Management Team



Harkirit is a seasoned entrepreneur and technology enthusiast with more than 25 years of leadership experience across diverse domains, including telecom and business transformation. He has played a key role in building and deploying global mobile satellite networks, starting from the introduction of the first commercial small-cell solutions in Europe to the latest 5G networks. In his previous capacity as a senior management executive at Tata Communications Transformation Services (TCTS), he oversaw large-scale digital transformation projects for telecommunication companies worldwide.

Harkirit is passionate about digital empowerment and has spearheaded the Smart Africa initiative for Infra Africa Connectivity in 24 countries, collaborating with start-ups to foster open innovation and advance Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, predictive analytics, automation, and big data. Over the course of his career, he has held senior positions with major corporations and has extensive experience working across America, Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Harkirit is a strong proponent of next-generation networks that enable ultra-fast broadband and hyperconnectivity, which he believes are crucial for driving growth and promoting socio-economic development. He is the co-founder and CEO of Ascend Digital Solutions, which is driving the digital revolution in Ghana and aims to be a digital catalyst accelerating African nations’ transition to becoming digital nations.



Michael brings extensive domain experience and diverse perspectives to an industry that’s changing by the minute and demands agility and business acumen.

Spanning nearly 30 years, Michael has in-depth expertise in formulating business strategies, planning and executing capital projects, technology architectures, and solution development, complemented by a service-oriented mindset.

Michael has an impressive record of building lean, high-performance, and efficient teams. He is passionate about mentoring young engineers to realize their potential. He loves playing badminton and reading books that explore different perspectives of life.



Alfred is the Head of Sales and Commercial for Ascend Digital Solutions Ltd. He has over 15 years of managerial experience in financial management, products, sales, and commercial management. He currently oversees the lead-to-cash functions, covering planning, product development, sales, order fulfilment, billing, revenue assurance, customer experience, credit, and collections.

Prior to joining Ascend Digital, Alfred worked in executive positions with reputable organizations, including Vodafone and Dimension Data.  At Vodafone Ghana, he was the Head of Commercial Performance and Enterprise Value Management (EVM) for the Enterprise and Wholesale business, where he led the development and execution of the enterprise and wholesale business strategy, sales planning and target setting, commission policy development, and administration, among others. He was also responsible for communicating the performance results to the Vodafone Board, Group, EXCO, and other internal stakeholders, including sales managers, for decision-making and corrective actions. From the EVM role, Alfred gained extensive experience in product intensity campaigns through cross-selling, customer value maximisation through upselling, and customer delay management through loyalty campaigns.

Alfred was the Acting Managing Director of Vodacom Business Africa (VBA) Ghana, after the latter was acquired by Vodafone Ghana, where he worked with a cross-functional team of Legal, Finance, Sales, HR, to drive the integration, and as the Acting Director for Enterprise Business Unit (comprising Vodafone Wholesale and Vodafone Business).

Alfred is a Chartered Accountant and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. He holds an MBA in Finance from Leicester University, an MSc in International Securities Investment and Banking from the ICMA Centre, University of Reading, a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana, as well as a Sales Management Development Program, Master Class from Growth Matters International, South Africa.



Thomas is a marketing professional with nearly two decades of working experience, primarily within the banking and telecommunications industries. He brings onboard a wealth of experience in Customer Value Management, Revenue Planning, Brand Management, and Marketing Strategy within the telecommunications space. Thomas started his career at Barclays Bank Ghana (now ABSA) as a Management Information Analyst where he managed loan impairments.

His experience at Barclays propelled him into a new career in Marketing within the telecommunications industry, first with Millicom (Tigo) as a Business Decision Support and then with Bharti Airtel as a Revenue Planning Manager. Thomas was instrumental in building Airtel’s Annual Operating Plan for the prepaid business and also launched Airtel’s loyalty programme, Airtel Rewardz.

His most recent role was as Commercial Lead at Busy Internet where he was responsible for the overall Marketing Operations of the business which included Business Strategy, Brand Management, Revenue, Pricing, Customer Retention, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Corporate Social Responsibility, Partnerships, and Communications.

Thomas is currently the Head of Marketing for Ascend Digital Solutions responsible for Marketing Strategy, Brand Management, Communications, and Strategic Partnerships. He is an avid advocate of digitalization and living a digital life, and he constantly seeks opportunities to digitally transform his everyday activities.

He is an alumnus of Ashesi University in Ghana and the University of Roehampton in London, UK.
